Cause suppurative wound infections, abscesses, and mastitis
Staph. epidermis
Usually non-pathogenic, but some strains can cause abscesses and skin infections.
Staph. intermedius
A common skin infection in dogs.
Staph. hyicus
In pigs causes "Greasy pig disease" or impetigo and exudative epidermitis.
Strep. agalactiae
Causes Mastitis in cows.
Strep equi
Causes strangles in horses
Strep. suis
Causes septicemia, endocarditis, and meningitis in pigs.
Bacillus anthracis
Causes Anthrax in cattle, sheep, pigs, and people.
Clostridium chauvoei
Causes Blackleg and gas gangrene in cattle and sheep.
Clos. septicum
Causes malignant edema, gas gangrene and septicemia in cattle, sheep, pigs, and horses. "Braxy" in sheep and necrotic dermatitis in chickens.
Clos. hemolyticum
Causes "Red water disease" and infarcts of the liver in cattle and sheep.
Clos. novy
Causes puply kidney disease, enterotoxemia, and encephalomalacia in sheep, goats (occasionally), and calves.
Clos. tetani
Causes Tetanus in ALL species

Causes Botulism in many species
Listeria monocytogenes
Cause abortion and encephalitis in cows , sheep, dogs, and horses (occasionally). Causes liver necrosis in rabbits, pigs, lambs, and raccoons. Causes septicemia in chickens, turkeys, and cage birds.
Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae
Causes diamond skin disease, septicemia, endocarditis, arthritis, and polyarthritis in pigs, sheep, cattle, turkeys, and other birds.
E.Coli
Mainly in young animals it causes calf scours, mastitis, edema, piglet diarrhea, hemorrhagic enteritits, air sacculitis, urinary infections and accute foal enterotoxemia.
Salmonella spp.
Causes acute septicemia, gastroenteritis, abortions, typhoid fever, etc in many species. over 1000 types.
Klebsiella spp.
Causes mastitis in pigs and cattle, and pneumonia in dogs.
Pasturella hemolytica
Associated with pneumonia, shipping fever in cattle, and salpingitis in fowl.
Past. multocida
Associated with shipping fever, snuffles, enzootic pneumonia, and primary cause of fowl cholera, hemorrhagic septicemia in cattle, and severe mastitis in cattle and sheep.
Hemophilus somnus
Causes infectious thromboembolic meningoencephalitis in cattle.
Pseudomonas aeruginosa
Causes wound infections, bovine mastitis, otitis in dogs and cats, and septicemia in chickens, affects many animals.
Brucella abortus & melitenis
Cause abortion in cattle, pigs, sheep and goats.
Brucella canis
Causes abortion in beagles, infertility, epididymitis, and orchitis.
Bordetella bronchiseptica
Causes "Kennel cough" or respiratory infection in dogs, atrphic rhinitis in pigs, snuffles in rabbits and guinea pigs, and associated with distemper.
Francisella tularensis
Causes rabbit fever.
Moraxella bovis
Causes pink eye in cattle.
Fusobacterium spp.
Causes "Foot rot", "Bull nose", "Thrush", heel or foot abscesses and associated with ulcerative stomatitis.
Campylobacter jejuni
Healthy carriers with organisms in intestinal tract, oral infection and epizootics of abortion in sheep and cattle.
Actinomyces bovis
Causes mandibular osteomyelitis in cattle.
Nocardia asteroides
Causes acute/ chronic mastitis, localized granulomatous lesions and generalized disease with pneumonia in dogs.
Mycobacterium bovis
Causes bovine-type tuberculosis and granulomas with caseation.
Myco. paratuberculosis
Causes Johne's disease.
Corynebacterium renale
Cystitis and renal abscess in cattle.
Coryne. pseudotuberculosis
Causes caseous lymphadenitis in sheep.
Mycoplasma spp.
Causes pneumonia, mastitis, arthritis, seminal vesiculitis, bovine granular vulvitis, conjunctivitis, among many other things.
Chlamydia psittaci
Causes enzootic abortions, Psittacosis, feline pneumonitis, transmissable serositis, and sporadic bovine encephalomyelitis.
Dermatophilus sp.
Causes scabby dermatitis in cattle, goats, sheep, and Polar bears. "Rain Rot" in horses.
Leptospira spp.
Causes hemoglobinuria, jaundice, abortion, infertility, acute hemorrhagic and icteric disease, and uremia in dogs, catlle, pigs, horses, and sheep.
Actinobacillus lignieresi
Causes "wooden toungue" in sheep and cattle.
Borrelia burgdorferi
Causes Lyme disease in dogs.
Papillomavirus
Causes warts.
Parvovirus
Causes reproductive failure in pigs, Feline Panleukopenia in cats, and enteritis in dogs.
Adenovirus
May cause URI in cattle. Causes infectious canine hepititis and Rubarth's disease in dogs.
Herpesvirus
May cause herpesvirus 1-3 in horses, pseudorabies in pigs, herpesvirus 1,2, and gamma type B in cattle, Adenomatosis in sheep, Feline Rhinotracheitisvirus in cats and " Fading puppy syndrome" and death in puppies.
Poxvirus
Causes pseudocowpox and papular stomatitis in cattle, causes contagious pustular dermatitis and scabby-mouth disease in sheep.

Causes URI in young horses, Talfan or Teschen's disease in pigs, and URI and enterovirus in cattle.
Coronavirus
Causes vomiting and diarrhea in dogs and pigs.
Paramyxovirus
Causes parainfluenza in horses, cattle and sheep and causes Distemper or "hard-pad disease" in dogs.
Togavirus
Causes arteritis, edema of limbs and eyes, and abortion in horses. Causes Diarrhea mucosal disease in cattle and causes "Border" or "Hairy shaker" disease in lambs.
