Lamellae
Concentric rings formed from thin layers of bone cells and collagenous fibers.
Haversian Canal
Canals found in the center of the concentric ring structure (Lamellae) that allow blood vessels and nerves to pass through.
Volkman's Canals
Lateral canals located in the concentric ring structure that also allow blood vessels and nerves to run through.
Canaliculi
Small canals which radiate in all directions from the Lacunae connecting all other lacunae to the central canals.
Lacunae
Small, fluid-filled spices within the bone structure that contains osteocytes.
Haversian System
The whole system of a compact bone.
