Diplomonads
Derive energy anaerobically (i.e glycolysis) Lack plastids and have modified mitochondria called MITOSOMES. Multiple flagella.
Parabasalids
Derive energy anaerobically. Lake plastids and have modified mitochondria called HYDROGENOSOMES. Include Trichomonas vaginalis, an STD (can get from towel).
Euglenozoans
Have a spiral or crystalline rod inside their flagella.
Kinetoplastids
Single mitochondrion with an organized mass of DNA called kinetoplast. Includes two types of TRYPANOSOMA carried by two diff. vectors.
