Anything that posses all of the characteristics of life
Organization
All of an organisms parts function together in an orderly, living system.

A Reaction to a stimulus
Species
A group of organisms that can interbreed and produce fertile offspring in nature
Stimulus
Anything in an organism's external or internal environment that causes the organism to react.
Control
The part of an experiment that is the standard against which results are compared. Receives no experimental treatment.

Information obtained from investigations
Dependent Variable
Any changes in it depend on changes made in the independent variable.
Experiment
And investigation that tests a hypothesis by the process of collecting information under controlled conditions.
Hypothesis
An explanation for a question or a problem that can be formally tested
Independent Variable
The condition in an experiment that is tested. It is the only factor that affects the outcome of the experiment.
Safety Symbol
A symbol that warns you about a danger that may exist from chemicals, electricity, heat, or procedures you will use

The common steps that biologists and other scientists use to gather info and answer questions.
Theory
An explanation of a natural phenomenon that is supported by a large body of evidence obtained from many different investigations and observations.
